i'm excited to learn more about how this websites work and hopefully the community will grow larger in the future!

ok so i'll be running a dnd oneshot for my friends this afternoon and i'm so excited. this will technically be my second time as a dm but the first time was very spontaneous and i didn't really have much time to prepare (also i had played dnd maybe once or twice before and half the players had never played it) so this will be my first REAL dm experience. we'll meet up in about 4 hours but idk what to do until then because i've already prepared everything but also my mind is laser-focussed on this oneshot right now and idk what else i can do. i have drawn up battlemaps, i have made a dm screen for myself (painted some cardboard black and decorated it with dnd-related symbols), i have statblocks for all enemies and even the friendly npcs in case my players decide to start a fight. i have traps and encounters planned, and a big boss fight (that can be ended more quickly if the players play it smart). i have planned for as many eventualities as i could think of (though i'm sure there's something i missed, but improvising is just part of being a dm i guess). i woke up at 5:30 this morning (it's 10am in my time zone right now) and am just full of energy but there's nowhere to put it yet. help meeeeee

there was a bazaar in my village today, in the school. i volunteered to help. spent the morning before the event actually started preparing food + snacks, then once the customers arrived i was responsible for the books + board games section, making sure everything was returned to the right place and nothing was falling over. was very busy, lots of people, especially kids weren't careful with books, always had something to do. about 30 minutes before closing, stream of customers finally started to slow down, had time to eat some food. then everyone was gone, now we had to return everything that wasn't sold to the right owners. i carried empty shelves upstairs into attic (storage), then filled laundry baskets with books + games + toys and carried them downstairs into gym where others sorted them and returned them to the correct baskets and boxes so that everything could be returned to the owner. it was exhausting and my feet hurt from walking so much but i'm glad i could help out. the last few years i've always helped with sorting the leftover clothes into the right boxes but this was a whole different level of physically draining. i'm home now and very very tired (physically), going to spend rest of day doing relaxing stuff. hhhhhhhh

i am so full. i ate soooo much pizza. 12 slices. i was at an event where teenagers from my village could talk to the mayor and village council so that our ideas and wishes can be respected and considered when making decisions in the future and there was free pizza and i ate so much. i love pizza and also i didn't have lunch today and it was absolutely delicious so i just ate slice after slice after slice. wonderful experience 10/10 i don't think i will ever need to eat again for the rest of my life.
